Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan is a native of and was raised within Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam her mother is a former back-up singer at Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five the father of her was appointed to be one of the cities' Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. Her family later moved to the historic mansion. As a 2005 Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduates, she is a major in the field of vocal music. Sullivan began singing in the school's chorus as a contralto, and then she joined the adult choir a few years further on. He was exposed to secular music but was at first limited "I performed solo at church and someone wanted me to sign to an evangelical label when I was eleven but I wasn't ready to do that," she recalls. "Then when McDonald's offered a competition to youngsters in the major cities I had the opportunity to perform "Accept What God Gives' on Showtime at the Apollo and the audience was very enthusiastic". The singer performed along with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday party at thirteen. Sullivan aged 15 began her career with Jive Records. As a teenager She was signed by Jive Records. The label recorded her entire album there, but the album was never released. Sullivan was ultimately removed on the labels. Missy Elliott was her producer for some songs from their debut album. One of them is "Backstabbers" of Timbaland and Timbaland, which Elliott wrote, is a high point of their relationship.
